Jason Troughton

Thanks for visiting me at my web site. The 'About Me' page was the last part of the site to be created, largely due to my believing that my images speak louder than any words that I could write. Photography has given me the opportunity to create, to capture and to portray many things, places and people.
My passion is to "make people look amazing and to capture amazing things" and I am my own biggest critic. I can spend hours in post processing, editing my images, researching new techniques and improvements to my photography.
I finally bit the bullet and purchased my first DSLR a few years ago. This was after my 15th birthday, many moons ago, where my parents asked me what I would like for my birthday. Having decided that I wanted an SLR camera, my parents asked me if this was what I really wanted and not just a phase that I may be going through (and as a 15 year old, I guess I did go through one or two). But also because, a half decent camera even back then would have been an expensive birthday gift. So having considered their question, I got cold feet and decided against a camera. What did I choose instead, I can't remember. But that birthday has lived with me ever since and as the years passed I came to realise that I did have a small regret over that decision.
And so the years passed and each time I came close to purchasing a DSLR, I found one reason or another to spend the money on other things, until finally I bit that bullet. All I can say is that I am now making up for lost time. Having made that initial outlay, it really has opened up a passion from within. I believe my passion shows in the images that I am able to produce. I love to capture amazing things, be it places, sunsets, buildings, waterfalls, beaches and objects, but just as passionately, I love to capture people in their best light and make them look amazing. Photography will always challenge me, constantly teach me and continually motivate me.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have enjoyed your stay. Please use the email icon at the top of the page or the Contact page if you would like to get in touch and please feel free to do so. Many thanks, Jay.
